A County Meath resident was disqualified from driving for three years for an offence that took place in Ballymany, Newbridge.
Naas District Court was told that Frank Locke, with an address at 15 St Oliver Plunkett Park, Kentstown in Navan, committed the offence on January 6, 2018.
The 46-year-old admitted to the offence to gardaí when he was stopped by them on the date in question.
He also pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared in Naas Courthouse before Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, April 20.
It was heard that Mr Locke has a previous conviction for drink-driving.
Judge Zaidan ordered Mr Locke to pay a €500 fine and gave him six months to pay it, in addition to the driving ban, which will come into effect on October 15.
