DISAPPOINTMENT OVER KCC RESPONSE

Kildare County Council’s update on the Market Square in Kilcullen did not sit well with one councillor.

The council said that 'a further funding source is required to progress this project.'

However, Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer said that the council’s report at the meeting outlined information 'we already knew.'

She then asked when can the Kildare-Newbridge MD expect an update from KCC's Public Realm Department on open projects in the MD.

A date is to be confirmed.

ROAD MAINTENANCE

Road resurfacing/maintenance to the front and rear access estate roads to the Cowpasture Estate will be undertaken by the county council.

The announcement came following a motion from Fine Gael Cllr Kevin Duffy.

LPT NOMINATIONS

Fianna Fáil Cllr Noel Heavey nominated €4,000 from Kildare County Council's Local Property Tax (LPT) to be allocated into JuneFest 2023.

The nomination was seconded by his colleague Cllr Suzanne Doyle.

In addition, Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer put forward the following LPT nominations: €3,000 euro for Kilcullen Valley Fairy Trail Upgrades, €4,000 euro to commission a public lighting audit in Walshestown Estate, Newbridge to assist with bringing the estate to Taking In Charge standard and €2,500 euro to complete the natural play area in Linear Park Newbridge.

WAIT TIMES

Kildare County Council has said that it would respond to a councillor who enquired about the wait times for social housing applications in the Newbridge area.
