Damien Szatkowski, with an address given as Peachville, Kilshane, Dublin 11, County Dublin, but who is currently remanded in custody, was previously produced in-person by gardaí before the court for a special sitting on Saturday, April 22 last.

The 37-year-old stands accused of the murder of late Slovakian national Marcel Kusenda (Senior) at a property located in Piercetown, Newbridge, on March 8 last.

Mr Szatkowski denies ever committing the alleged offence.

On the latest date, gardaí sought an adjournment from Judge Desmond Zaidan, to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The case will resume on May 11, and Judge Zaidan urged gardaí to make progress in the case 'as soon as possible.'
