The announcement has been welcomed by a Senator and a Kildare county councillor.
Public consultation is due soon for the long-anticipated Kildare County Library.
From tomorrow, (Wednesday, May 10) plans and particulars of the proposed development (Ref. No. P82022.21) will be available for inspection during normal opening times at Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 X77F from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday for a period of 6 weeks until June 21, 2023 (inclusive).
To facilitate public viewing, a copy of the plans and particulars will be available for viewing only in Newbridge Library, Athgarvan Road, Newbridge, County Kildare, W12 W861, during normal opening times until June 21.
Today's announcement was welcomed by Fianna Fáil Senator Fiona O'Loughlin, who commented: "I was part of the original lobby group when we were fighting for an arts centre for Newbridge.
"I am pleased to finally see substantive progress on a redeveloped County Library, Archives and Cultural Centre for our main street."

She continued: "The redevelopment must improve capacity, access and provide other community facilities for our town.
"We have some wonderfully talented individuals around Newbridge and Kildare, and we need facilities the facilities to match.
"I would encourage you to let your voice be heard and to make a submission, and I am of course available to support and help if needed," Senator O'Loughlin concluded.
Social Democrats councillor Chris Pender also welcomed the news, adding: "Let's make sure that we all contribute to the proper planning and sustainable development of this exciting new project."
