A driving disqualification (DQ) and fines were imposed on a man who appeared at Naas District Court on Thursday, May 5.
John O’Connor, with an address given as 26 Liffey Mill in Athgarvan, was convicted for two separate road traffic offences by Judge Desmond Zaidan.
The 33-year-old was not present in the court on the date in question, but was represented by solicitor Brian Larkin.
Mr O'Connor was convicted for driving without displaying insurance and for driving without a licence at Sex Road in Newbridge on January 22, 2018, and again at Liffey Mill on June 13, 2018.
Gardaí told the judge that Mr O'Connor has nine previous convictions, eight of which were in relation to road traffic offences.
Of these road traffic offences, he has one previous for driving with no insurance and one previous driving DQ for drink-driving.
For these offences, Judge Zaidan fined Mr O'Connor approximately €7,250, and also imposed a total 10 year driving DQ on him.
The judge gave Mr O'Connor three months to pay these fines.
