There has been criticism of the amount of money allocated to the Naas Tidy Towns group.

A total of €17,700 is to be given to NTT this year.

But Cllr Seamie Moore told a Naas Municipal District meeting that the NTT is doing a good job for  Kildare County Council.

“It’s not enough,” he said, pointing out that “Naas has 30,000 people”.

He added: “Naas has had a huge increase in population but no increase in this grant.”

Kill and Sallins will get almost €5,000 each, while €3,800 will go to Ballymore Eustace.

Johnstown and Eadestown will each receive €2100.
