Demolition and other changes proposed for part of Naas, County Kildare property

A number of changes, including a partial demolition, has been proposed for part of a well-known Naas structure.

According to planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council (KCC), Central Tower Limited is seeking permission in relation to The Forge Inn No. 46 (which is a Protected Structure: RPS. Ref. NS19-186) and Bank of Ireland No.48 (Protected Structure: RPS Ref. NS19-034) on South Main Street in Naas.

Central Tower Ltd also trades under the following names: Sarah Floods, The Five Lamps and The Forge Inn.

Specifically, the company is seeking permission from KCC for the demolition of the temporary access to Bank of Ireland in the former part of Bank of Ireland structure, including ramp and rail and removal of ATM machine.

Central Tower Ltd is also seeking planning permission for: the modification of former Bank of Ireland structure to create new openings to a new plaza at the rear, including security gates and two signs (front and rear); provision of new public house internal layout for The Forge Inn over four floors including basement, along with minor works to north facade and provision of new 3 storey lift lobby extension.

In addition, permission for the provision of retail use in existing vacant unit to the rear of The Forge Inn, including: new glazing; provision of new plaza including hard and soft landscaping, seating and lighting is being sought; the erection of two ATM machines on the south facade of Bank of Ireland building; provision of new entrance doors and three signs; and all associated site works, including drainage.

The date received on the application is listed as May 30 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as July 3 and July 24 respectively.

According to the business information website SoloCheck.ie, Central Tower Ltd was established in 2020.

The company's largest shareholder is listed as Roche Family Pharmacy Limited.

It has an address registered at Vista Primary Care Centre, Ballymore Eustace, Naas, County Kildare.
