KILDARE: Concern over massive weed grown at Naas lakes

Weeds occupy a considerable part of the lakes area

Concern bas been expressed over weeds at a popular Naas amenity area.

Part of the lakes have seen substantial weed growth, notably at the lake closest to the town.

And Kildare County Council has been asked to investigate.

Cllr Anne Breen said the situation is "unacceptable" and added that weeds are covering the surface of all the lakes at Ballymore Road and at Lakelands, on the opposite side of Naas Hospital.

Cllr Breen pointed out that this occurred last year "making it impossible for the water fowl to use the water as intended."
