URGENT: Hen appeal released by Kildare-based animal group

An urgent hen appeal has been released by a County Kildare-based animal group.

Littlehill Rescue and Sanctuary, which is a registered charity, listed the following points on social media for those interested in helping them:

1) "Please private message on Facebook ONLY with your number of Hens, collection point and your phone number (Comments may NOT be seen).
2) Adopt fees apply.
3) Please bring adequate transport carriers - one cat carrier per two hens. IF (you have) cardboard boxes WITH LOTS OF AIRHOLES , Dog Crates are best!
4) Check Dept of Agriculture website for current regulations."

The group will be bringing hens to Kildare town, in addition to Kilmeague and Portarlington, on Saturday, June 17.

Littlehill Rescue and Sanctuary in Kildare was founded by Susan Anderson, with the aim of re-homing abandoned, abused and neglected dogs, cats and horses, in addition to ex-battery hens.
