An Independent councillor welcomed the response from Kildare County Council (KCC) in relation to one of her questions concerning a proposed bus shelter.

Cllr Fiona McLoughlin-Healy put forward the following question to KCC at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting held on Wednesday, June 21: "Can the council clarify the estimated timeline for delivery of the bus shelter at Cross and Passion School in Kilcullen?"

A representative for KCC told Cllr McLoughlin-Healy: "Planning permission was granted on May 22, 2023, by the Council to the Board of Management of Cross and Passion College for the demolition of their existing school building and the phased construction of new school buildings.

"As part of the granted planning permission, the applicant was conditioned to construct a bi-directional cycle lane along the frontage of the R448 and a recessed bus stop."

They added: "It is proposed to relocate the existing bus stop opposite the filling station to this location."

Cllr McLoughlin-Healy said she was satisfied with this response.

She also asked for a timeframe of the delivery of the shelter, but KCC was unable to provide her with this information on the day in question.
