Naas is to gain four bus shelters - but it has lost a stop.
The new shelters are to be provided at Roseville, Dublin Road (inbound and outbound), at Oldbridge, Monread north, Sallins (inbound) and near the fire station at Newbridge Road (inbound).
The new stops were welcomed by Cllr Carmel Kelly who said they would make a difference “because people won’t stand in the wind and rain.”
She also said that at least two shelters are needed in Sallins.
Cllr Bill Clear told a Naas Municipal District meeting that the stop at Poplar Square is not longer being used because the National Transport Authority “decided it’s not up to standard.”
Cllr Fintan Brett said that the stop needs to be operating, adding that there are three stops in Kill but only one similar one in Naas.
He also pointed out there are a number of pharmacies in the Poplar Square area.
