Naas Courthouse
A man found in possession of child pornography images is being prosecuted at Naas District Court.
Children as young as six months were found among pornography images on a computer, it was claimed at a previous hearing.
He is charged with allegedly possessing child pornography images on a date in July 1018 and a date in October last.
The court heard it will be alleged that some 2529 images were found in addition to 24 videos.
The court also heard that the images were “very graphic” and the children ranged in age from six months to early teens.
The court heard that the existence of the images came to light as a result of the activity of an international monitoring body outside Ireland.
The court was told that the images were found during a search of his property and another device, with more images, was also seized
The man was sent forward for trial to Naas Circuit Court.
The judge said he must inform the authorities of any information concerning an alibi in advance of the case being heard.
