A treatment facility at Osberstown, Naas
There has been a delay to the start of work to build a pumping station at a wastewater facility at Osberstown, Naas.
According to Kildare County Council works have not started on the project “due to a decision by Uisce Éireann (Irish Water).”
Cllr Carmel Kelly told a Naas Municipal District meeting that work was due to start between April and August.
She also said that any delay would result in three housing estates in Sallins not being taken in charge.
According to KCC official Jonathan Hennessy, the council tendered for works to the pumping station in January on behalf of UÉ. “Unfortunately, due to the costs received, UÉ cancelled the tender.”
He added that a contractor has now been appointed to install the pumping station and it is now expected that works will start between June and August.
