KILDARE: Woman 'pulled out clumps of niece's hair' on Naas street

Allegation

There is increasing concern over the future of Naas Courthouse

Naas Courthouse

A woman pulled out a clump of her niece’s hair during an incident on the main street near Naas Courthouse, it’s been claimed.

Nora Lynch, 51, whose address was given as 6 Ruanbeg Park, Ruanbeg Manor, Kildare town, is being prosecuted for alleged affray at South Main Street, Naas on April 6, 2022.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan said it will be claimed that the injured party was struck in the face a number of times and her hair was pulled with a clump of it being pulled out.

He said the injured party is the defendant's niece.

The court was also told that there is another defendant in the case and this matter has been adjourned.

Defending solicitor Tim Kennelly stated that the defendant does not accept the allegation and said it will be contested. He also suggested that the parties do not all appear in court at the same time.

Judge Desmond Zaidan indicated he would refuse jurisdiction, meaning it is likely to be heard at Naas Circuit Court.

He adjourned the matter for approval from the  Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and for the preparation of a book of evidence.

The woman was remanded on continuing bail to appear again on October 4.
