A teenage girl living in a residential care setting threatened to kill a member of staff there, it was stated at Naas District Court.
The girl who was aged 17 at the time was kicking a door at the centre on July 25 last and said to the unit manager “come out, I’m going to kill you. I’m going to sort you out.”
Sgt Dave Hanrahan also told the court she threatened to damage a car.
On November 4 last there was an allegation of assault and the production of an article.
He said it will be claimed she assaulted a staff member with a sweeping brush and threatened to have the person harmed.
The court was told that when charged the defendant made no reply.
Barrister Aisling Murphy pointed out that the defendant was a child at the time of the incidents and that she will turn 18 next January.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said that having considered the alleged facts along with the defendant’s age and her level of maturity at the time, he would send her forward for trial at Naas Circuit Court.
