A T-junction is being planned for Newbridge.
Planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council show that Ballyfarm Limited intends to construct the T-junction at Great Connell in Newbridge.
The company intends to construct 'a new standard priority T-junction' onto the Newbridge South Outer Orbital Road (NSOOR), which would include a new ghost right-turn on the NSOOR, and a circa 250-metre-long section of access road to service zoned employment lands.
The proposed road and junction would accommodate a single carriageway road with dedicated off-road cycleways and footpaths in both directions.
The proposed carriageway is 9m in width, with two 1.75m wide cycleways and two 2m pedestrian pathways.
In addition, the planned development also includes a 2.25m grass verge, and two 2m offsets to the fence line, surface water drainage infrastructure, and all associated development and works.
The date received is listed as July 21 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as August 24 and September 14 respectively.
According to the business information site SoloCheck.ie, Ballyfarm Ltd was established in 1970.
Its primary activity is listed as 'the growing of crops combined with farming of animals (mixed farming).'
The company has a registered address at O'Neill Foley, The Brewhouse, Abbey Quarter, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny.
