Sallins
Sallins councillor Carmel Kelly has complained again about the lack of little bins in Sallins.
She wants bins provided for the summer period when both the Grand Canal and the greenway route bring more people to the area.
Cllr Kelly said she had raised the issue previously and expressed frustration that a planned review by Kildare County Council had not taken place since then.
She told a previous Naas Municipal District meeting that Sallins has 13 bins while there are 27 in Kill and 14 in Ballymore Eustace.
“My voice is not being heard when it comes to the allocation of bins,” said Cllr Kelly at the time, adding that the town has twice the population of Kill and six times the number of people living in Ballymore.
She said that having just two small bins on either side of the canal is not enough.
According to KCC it’s proposed “to review the number of bins in Sallins as part of the ongoing bin emptying programme in the district.”
