A woman seeking protection at a family law hearing in Naas District Court claimed that her husband deleted the number of a friend of hers from her phone.

The woman alleged that he was abusive to her in front of their children.

When the friend texted her he said he did not want his wife talking to her .

The woman said her friend used to help her.

She told the court she cannot see her friend because she does not go anywhere without her husband.

On one occasion she claimed that she screamed for help and shouted in the street because he tore her clothes and hit her in front of the children.

She said she was punched and that he has been violent many times, previously hitting her in the head and knee.

She further said the defendant uses drugs and she fears he will take the children.

She said he tells the children “your mother is a bitch and don’t trust her.”

Judge Joanne Carroll granted an interim protection order.
