A Naas-based removals firm has been awarded a prestigious industry certificate.
AMC Removals had quality certification renewed and was awarded the FAIM certification, which recognises full compliance with the stringent.
This is the world’s first and only quality assessment programme for the international moving and relocation industry.
Every certified company has to go through regular audits performed by independent auditors
AMC Removals started out as a family business in 1969 transporting furniture for the family owned Elms store in Punchestown.
Denis McCarthy began shipping furniture and belongings for neighbours and people he knew.
In 2001 his son Aubrey McCarthy took over the business and relocated the moving side to Naas Industrial Estate where they also operate a storage and self storage business. The business now has a list of clients including the Central Bank, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sting, U2, Chris de Burgh, Intercontinental Hotels, HSE, Kildare County Council, Sisk, BAM, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the OPW.
Mr McCarthy said: “This means that we are at the top of their game regarding quality assurance. We still are a family owned business and we now move people all over the world from Athlone to Australia.” He paid tribute to customers and staff,
AMC is a member of IAM (International Association of Movers), the world’s largest trade association for the global moving industry and holds British Association of Removers associate membership ( BAR is the trade association for removal and storage services in the UK. It represents and promotes more than 450 UK removals companies as well as over 250 worldwide associates.
