A boy who hails from Clane will be the MC for two events on the Lily Sessions Stage at the upcoming Playing Fields Music Festival.

Logan Kelly, who is only 12 years of age but has already establised himself as a media personality, podcaster and journalist, will be hosting the event, which will take place on the grounds of Clane GAA Club this weekend.

He explained to the Leinster Leader about how he came to be an MC: "I was approached by Niall Finnegan and Josh Fogarty the organisers of the Lily Sessions at Clane GAA to be MC on the Lily Sessions Stage this year at The Playing Fields Festival and I was delighted to be asked!

"Along with knowing me locally, Niall and Josh asked me by saying that they knew I had my podcast, Logan Sounds Off, and knew of my love of music. They felt that I had the personality to be their MC and wanted to give me the chance to gain this experience and be part of the Indie music scene," he added.

When Logan was asked why he thinks he would be suitable for the role, he replied: "I think what makes me suitable to be MC on the Lily Sessions Stage at The Playing Fields is my love of music!

"From a very young age, I have loved music and for me music is fun and it inspired me to begin Logan Sounds Off in January 2022.

"On my podcast, I interview and interact with a variety of people in the music and broadcasting industry and I was lucky enough last year to have my own 30 minute slot for four weeks, Logan Takes Over on KFM Radio and more recently I was on live TV on RTÉ’s News2Day and Ireland AM.

"All of this experience, I think, makes me suitable to be MC."

Logan admitted that while he is nervous, he would like to think that his enthusiasm towards the event will overpower his nerves.

He elaborated: "I am really looking forward to it, and I cannot wait to see the different acts performing over the two days and I am counting down the days until I am on the Lily Sessions Stage."

Logan also thanked Niall and Josh for asking him to be their MC on the Lily Sessions Stage at The Playing Fields, as well as Clane GAA and The Playing Fields organisers Tony Tighe, Fintan Doran and Andrea Walsh.

He added: "I think it is brilliant that there is an event like The Playing Fields in Clane and they are very supportive of the community and local acts."

The Lily Sessions stage is due to kick off about 4.10pm on Friday, August 25, and at 3.30pm on Saturday, August 26.
