Naas man and his wife managed to locally source all elements for wedding

Chris Foley and his new wife Jiayi

Chris Foley and his new wife Jiayi got married in Naas recently.

They managed to source all elements of the event locally.

Chris said: "I am a Naas man, while Jiayi is originally from Sichuan, Southwest China. We met back in 2018 while both studying at UCD. The intervening years have seen us living in various places around the world together, including Bangkok, Luxembourg and closer to home in Dublin. But last year I finally convinced Jiayi to move back to Naas with me.

"Two of us are hoping to get married in China in 2025, but knowing that this trip will not be feasible for everyone, we decided to also have a wedding here in Ireland first, the 'home leg' I am calling it!

"We are both passionate about supporting local businesses, and decided that we wanted the wedding to reflect this. As such, where possible, all elements of the wedding were sourced locally."

Ceremony Location: McAuley Place located on the Sallins Road (arts and culture centre located beside the church in Naas. Big thanks to Mark Hazzard from McAuley place with all his help organising)

Celebrant: Louise Burchall (local celebrant based in Naas)

Dinner/Drinks Reception: Dinner reception was held at Lawlors Hotel (hotel on poplar square with over 100 years of history in the town), with evening music and drinks at the Random Inn (cosy snug bar at the front of Lawlors). Thanks to Stephen Beggs from Lawlors for all his support.

Flowers: Calla lilies sourced from Brett's Florist on the main street. Mary from Brett's is fantastic.

Bride's Dress: Bought from Emporium Kalu on South Main Street

Groom's Suit: Bought from Richie Whelan's menswear

Candour a local four piece band of Colm Foley (brother of the groom), Ethan Cotter, Sam Sheehan and Will Sullivan.  All recently graduated from Naas CBS and played the music during the ceremony. (instagram - @candour_band)

A local string quartet, also from Naas, were hired to play during the dinner.

The evening session in the Random Inn was headlined by local musician Kevin O'Neill, a childhood friend of the groom. Born and raised in Naas but now living in London (instagram - @music.kevo )

Cake: Grá the Coffee Bar - North Main Street.
