Three men have been accused of being involved in an affray at Maynooth Train Station.
Two of the men involved in the case appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court on Thursday, September 21.
The defendants are as follows: Adam McCall, 22, with an address listed as 22 Parklands Square in Maynooth; Joe Walsh, 27, of Mulhussey in Maynooth; and Lochlann Smith, 20, with an address listed as 89 Griffin Rath Hall in Maynooth.
Gardaí told Judge Zaidan that on November 28, 2021, at the train station, the trio became involved in an affray with another man.
This offence falls under Section 16 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.
Mr Smith and Mr Walsh have been charged with one count of being contravention of this Act, while Mr McCall has been charged with two counts.
Although Mr Walsh and Mr McCall were present in court, gardaí told Judge Zaidan that Mr Smith was absent because he was out of the country.
It was heard that Mr Smith gave notice of his departure to gardaí beforehand.
After a book of evidence was served on all three defendants, the judge sent them forward for trial to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which will commence on October 3.
He also continued bail for all three defendants until this date.
