A fanzone should be created in Naas for supporters of the Irish rugby team during the World Cup in France.
Local councillor Bill Clear wants Kildare County Council to investigate the feasibility of setting up a fan zone on Poplar Square "at times of Ireland games in the Rugby World Cup."
He says the use of mobile TV screens and some seating "would create a fantastic addition to this public realm space."
KCC has previously indicated that fan zones - public gatherings for supporters - demand considerable logistics and the issues to be addressed include health and safety regulations as well as ensuring that enough marshals would be deployed.
