Sittings at Naas District Court today have been impacted by the criminal law barrister's strike.

Barristers nationwide have gone on strike for the first time ever in a dispute with the government over a failure to reverse pay cuts to the sector.

They protested outside courthouses around the country from 10am this Tuesday, which is the first full day of the new legal year.

A number of barristers who work at Naas District Court have joined their colleagues by partaking in the strike.

As part of the strike, they were accompanied by boxes displaying their main arguments.
