A man has died following a fire at a home in Monasterevin last night.
A spokesperson on behalf of An Garda Síochána has told the Leinster Leader: "Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a residence on the Togher Road in Monasterevin, County Kildare on Monday evening, October 9, 2023.
"The incident occurred at approximately 6pm and a man in his 50s was fatally injured."
The spokesperson added that the man's body has since been removed from the scene, and a post-mortem will take place in due course.
