Kildare County Council welcome the news that Clane, Co Kildare has been granted funding for the preparation of a ‘Town Centre Plan’ under the Government’s Town Centre First Policy.

In February 2022, The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and the Department of Rural Community Development published ‘Town Centre First: A Policy Approach for Irish Towns’,  the policy’s objectives  are to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant, and attractive locations for people to live, work and visit, while also functioning as the service, social, cultural and recreational hub for the local community by introducing strategies to tackle vacancy, combat dereliction and breathe new life into town centres.

In preparation for the plan, Kildare County Council would like to invite the public to get involved by completing a survey and sharing your views and provide feedback on how you think Clane can be developed and revitalized into a sustainable, radiant and dynamic centre.

The survey will be live until 11pm on the 12th of November 2023 and can be accessed at https://consult.kildarecoco. ie/en/content/clane-town- centre-first-plan.
