A woman told Naas District Court she was assaulted and verbally abused by ex-partner while on holiday abroad.
She told Judge Desmond Zaidan during a family law hearing that she was also threatened and the man has got “very controlling.”
She added he has no money to “pay for stuff” and she had to pay.
The court was also told that the holiday was booked when “things were good.”
She added: “He wanted money all the time, he had no money.”
It was claimed she was punched to the face and shoulder in the holiday hotel.
The woman further alleged that the hotel summoned the police.
Granting an interim protection order, Judge Zaidan said if the woman is in fear she should contact the gardaí.
The matter was adjourned for a fuller hearing to February 26 when the partner can attend if he wishes.
