A three-year driving disqualification (DQ) was imposed on a Northern Irish resident for a drink-driving offence he committed in County Kildare.
Eamonn McGurk, with an address given as Creggan Road in Omagh, County Tyrone, was convicted in his absence at Naas District Court on November 2 last by substitute Judge Philip O'Leary.
His solicitor, David Powderly, told the judge that his client asked him to submit a guilty plea to the offence on his behalf.
Gardaí told the judge that on August 9, 2022, gardaí on patrol on the N4 in Moyvalley observed the 35-year-old swaying from lane to lane while driving his car, and added that when he was pulled over by them, he appeared 'dishevelled.'
Gardaí said that Mr McGurk tested positive for alcohol.
It was heard that he has no previous convictions.
Judge O'Leary imposed a three-year driving DQ on Mr McGurk, in addition to a €200 fine, to be paid within three months.
