Sinéad Lawlor, operations manager at Naas’ Killashee Hotel is this year’s winner of the Employee of the Year award at the County Kildare Chamber Business Awards.
The awards event took place on November 17 at the Killashee Hotel.
Ms Lawlor began working at Killashee Hotel in November 2013, stepping into the role of duty manager.
Her skills and dedication quickly became evident, leading to a swift promotion to conference manager in January 2014.
She continued to impress with her management abilities and ability to create unforgettable experiences for the hotel’s guests and clients. In June 2022, Sinead she was promoted to the role of operations manager.
This means she oversees international conferences, weddings and events at the hotel.
Sinéad, who is from Palmerstown in Dublin, graduated from Ballyfermot Senior College with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management in 1997. Industrial catering was a prominent industry then and her first role was as a junior catering manager in Intel which had eight restaurants on site.
She transferred to IBM with Campbell Catering and was their youngest unit Manager at 23 with responsibility for two of the four site restaurants catering for thousands of people each day. She moved into the hotel industry in 2006 and went to work in what is now Central Hotel Tullamore for five years. This was followed by two years in the neighbouring The Bridge House, prior to her joining the team at Killashee.
