Celbridge
Warning signs will be put up to make an area in Celbridge safer for cyclists.
This follows a call for steps to be taken to improve safety for pedestrians and walkers.
Independent councillor Vanessa Liston asked Kildare County Council to “implement temporary safety measures” at Kilwogan Lane.
She said this should be done during the darkness of the winter months “while a longer term solution is being worked on.”
There are limited temporary measures that can be provided there due to limited space available.
The lane is rural in character with limited carriageway and verge widths with several pinch points along its length. However KCC says it's planned to install four sets of cyclists and pedestrian warning signs to alert motorists of the potential presence of cyclists and walk.
