ALERT: Faulty hairdryer sold in Ireland recalled due to major safety risk

A hairdryer sold in two popular stores in Ireland has been recalled due to a major safety concern.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), the plug on the Brookstone Foldable Hair Dryer sold in TK Maxx and Homesense does not comply with relevant safety standards and may cause electric shock.

The model number is HS1169, and the product code shown on the price sticker and receipt will be either 087150, 087158, 087166, 087170 or 087179.

The batch number and the barcode are unknown.

The affected products were sold in stores in Ireland between September and November 2023.

Customers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

If customers have any further queries in relation to this recall, please email TK Maxx at customerservice@tjxeurope.com or call on 01 2476126.
