Warning over man acting strange and lying on road at night in Kildare
Residents in a rural area of Co Kildare have been warned over a man acting strangely at night.
Gardaí have been called a number of times to deal with the man who residents say is harassing people, walking into gardens, knocking on doors and windows. It's also been reported that the man has been seen lying on the road at night.
The incidents are happening in Ballyhagen near Carbury in Kildare and have been reported on a local community Facebook page.
An anonymous resident said: "Residents in the Ballyhagen area are advised to be aware of ongoing disturbances by a male pedestrian. Guards have been called on numerous occasions over the past few weeks regarding a male pedestrian behaving erratically while walking the Ballyhagen road."
They claimed: "He is harassing people by walking into their yards, knocking on doors and windows, especially once it's dark."
The resident also claimed the man is dangerously "laying down on the road while there is oncoming traffic, obviosuly a danger to drivers."
"Walkers should also be aware," their message concluded.
Other locals replied to say they have seen this man in the area. One said: "I’ve seen this fella a few times now…can’t figure out where he is staying or where he is walking from, but he is behaving extremely erratically and definitely will cause an accident."
Gardaí have been contacted for comment on this story.
