An update has been given by Kildare County Council (KCC) in relation to the Road Active Travel Scheme in Kilcullen.

KCC said: "Please note that the section of the Kilcullen Road between Patrician Avenue and the Ballymore Road junction will reopen to traffic in both directions from December 21, 2023.

"A new traffic management plan will be implemented for the section of road between Murtagh’s Corner and the Ballymore Road junction from January 2, 2024 to facilitate the next phase of the Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme.

"This will result in one-way traffic from Naas Main Street in the outbound direction between Murtagh’s Corner and the Ballymore Road."

KCC continued: "Any vehicles wishing to access Naas Main Street via the Kilcullen Road or the Ballymore Road should follow the diversion routes via the South Ring Road.

"Further details on the Phase 3 traffic management plan and the overall scheme can be accessed on Kildare County Council’s website at the following link: https://kildarecoco.ie/AllServices/Roads/RoadSafetyCyclingandSustainableTransport/SustainableTransport/SustainableInfrastructureProjects/KilcullenRoadActiveTravelScheme/"

"Kildare County Council do apologise for any inconvenience but are delighted to be progressing this scheme through construction," KCC concluded.
