REVEALED: Exact location in Ireland series 2 of Netflix hit Wednesday will be filmed
The huge Netflix series Wednesday based on the famous Addams Family character, starring Jenna Ortega, will be filmed on location in Wicklow next April.
It had been reported that the show's second series, which is hotly anticipated among viewers around the globe, would be filmed in Ireland but now and industry source has pinpointed where production will take place.
Most of the filming will take place at Ardmore and Ashford Studio in Wicklow, the source confirmed but producers may not stop their and are scoping out further locations around the country.
Our source told us: "They are looking around the country for locations at the moment but I'm not aware of any being confirmed.
Ardmore Studios has been involved in the production of some major TV shows and films over the years, including The Butcher Boy, Moone Boy, The Field and Braveheart.
Ardmore has been involved in the likes of Veronica Geurin, Braveheart and Vikings, as well as a location for the likes of Dancing With The Stars and Strictly Come Dancing.
Netflix series Wednesday was a major hit when it was released in November 2022, becoming one of the biggest shows that year with 350 million viewers.
The second series will once again see Jenna Ortega in the titular role. It will be filmed from April 2024 with a late 2024 or early 2025 release date on the streaming platform.
