Planning permission for ten years is being sought in relation to a planned solar farm in Naas.
An application lodged with Kildare County Council shows that Eel Mullacash Solar Limited is seeking to develop the solar farm in the Townlands of Flemington South (Tonaphuca), at Donde Big, Sillagh and Swordlestown South in Naas.
The development would consist of planning permission for a period of 10 years to construct and complete a solar photovoltaic (PV) energy farm, with a total site area of 128.66 hectares.
The site would comprise of electrical and inverter substations, modules, solar PV ground mounted on support structures, temporary construction compounds, internal access tracks, security fencing, electrical cabling and ducting, CCTV and other ancillary infrastructure.
The solar farm would be operational for 40 years.
A Natura Impact Statement would be submitted alongside the full application.
The date received is listed as December 22 last, while no submission-by or due date is listed on the current application, which is in the pre-validation stage.
According to the business information website SoloCheck.ie, Eel Mullacash Solar Limited was established back in 2022.
The company's principal activity is defined as the 'production of electricity.'
It has an address listed as 4 Kellyville Park, Portlaoise, County Laois.
