Santa with Tiglins Ukrainian Residents Tatiana and Rodion
Naas man Aubrey McCarthy attended the turning on of the Christmas lights at Áras an Uachtaráin.
Mr McCarthy is the founder of Tiglin, an organisation that helps people affected by addiction and homelessness.
Tiglin was invited for the event with President Michael D Higginas and wife Sabina Higgins.
Mr McCarthy attended with Tiglin residents young Rodion Kudryk (who uses a wheelchair) and his mom Tatiana, John Sythk and Brian (a Tiglin graduate) and Crystal Thornton and their kids .
“President Higgins reminisced about that ‘amazing day down in Jigginstown Manor’ (when he opened the facility) and he really seems to understand what Tiglin is about.”
He added: “President Higgins expressed the hope that the marginalised and those forced to flee their homes because of war would be included at Christmas. Let’s make a commitment to shine a light into the lives of others, who are experiencing a difficult point on life’s journey.”
