KILDARE: Paths and lights needs to be repaired in Athy

Labour Party councillor Mark Leigh


Footpaths and public lighting need to be repaired in Athy, according to a local councillor.

Cllr Mark Leigh asked for details about the possibility of work taking place.

According to Kildare County Council official Mark McLoughlin no works are “currently planned” for the paths - but this may be reconsidered when other works are completed.

The councillor was also told  at an Athy Municipal district meeting that lighting will be completed as part of the LED retrofitting project. LED lighting is more energy efficient.

It’s planned to replace all lights with LED lighting and a survey is due to start in the county before the end of March.
