Councillors for the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD) have received an update on the expected delivery of social housing units from Kildare County Council (KCC).

The announcement regarding the homes was heard at the latest MD meeting, which was held on Friday, January 5 last.

One of the local representatives present at the meeting, Social Democrats Cllr Aidan Farrelly, motioned for KCC to provide the members with the update for the MD.

In response, KCC told Cllr Farrelly the following via its report at the meeting: "10 Council-built units in Coill Dubh will be delivered in Quarter 1 2024, and 28 units approved for delivery in 2024 by the Approved Housing Bodies.

"Eight Part-V units to be delivered in 2024 (four in Prosperous and four in Derrinturn)."
