New community centre on the way to Kildare village

Planning permission granted for new Johnstown Housing estate is under appeal

Johnstown, Naas

Talks are taking place to open a new community centre in Johnstown, Naas.

A Naas Municipal District meeting  was told that Kildare County Council has been in contact with the owner of a community facility in Johnstown and “ongoing discussions are taking place regarding the site.”

The lack of facilities in Johnstown village, which has a population of about 1,000 people, has been previously highlighted at a NMD meeting.

Cllr Fintan Brett pointed out that there is no a community centre in the area and there is a dearth of community facilities.
