A Naas District Court defendant faces accusations of committing burglary and theft offences.
Dean Smyth, with an address listed as 3438 Lakeside Park in Newbridge, but who is currently remanded in custody, appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, January 25 last.
The 30-year-old stands accused of stealing property from a car in the Pairc Mhuire region of Newbridge on December 7 last.
Mr Smyth also stands accused of committing two burglary offences in relation to two separate properties located in Newbridge on December 16 last.
Defending solicitor Matthew Byrne told the judge that the case against his client has been before the courts five times already without progress, and applied for a strike-out.
However, Garda Sergeant David Hanrahan said that the case 'is only very recent.'
Judge Zaidan decided to adjourn the case to February 2, to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The judge remanded Mr Smyth in custody until the case resumes.
