Two men who appeared in Naas District Court on Thursday, January 25 last, both via video-link, have been accused of taking part in an assault.
It has been alleged that Mark Whyte, 37, with an address listed as 2597 Dara Park, Newbridge but who is currently remanded in custody, and James Rowan, 44, with an address listed as 2 Flinter's Close, Athy, but who is also remanded in custody.
Gardaí claimed that both defendants, in addition to two unspecified female defendants (who did not appear in court on the date in question) assaulted a person on the Station Road in Newbridge on January 21 last.
This caused the alleged injured party suffered cuts to their head, according to the gardaí.
Judge Desmond Zaidan presided over the case.
In addition, it was alleged that items were stolen from the alleged injured party by the defendants.
The cases involving Mr Whyte and Mr Rowan were adjourned to February 8, in order to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Judge Zaidan remanded both men in custody until February 8.
