The sum of €10,000 was taken from a woman’s bank account, it’s been alleged.
Before Naas District Court was told Sullyiman Rahman, who had the case transferred to the circuit court.
The defendant, aged 30, whose address was given as 103 Boyne Meadows, Edenderry, is being prosecuted for a claimed breach of section 7 of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, which deals with the proceeds of criminal conduct.
It's claimed the incident occurred at a place unknown within the state on September 22, 2021.
Judge Desmond Zaidan sent the case forward for trial at Naas Circuit Court.
The defendant was told that if an alibi forms any part of his defence he must provide details of this in advance to the prosecuting authorities.
The judge approved free legal aid and the defendant was returned for trial on continuing bail.
