An update on a proposed social housing development in County Kildare was given to councillors based in the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD).
The information was relayed to local representatives at the latest MD meeting, which took place on Friday, February 2 last.
Kildare County Council (KCC) was asked about the update on the development in Maynooth by Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney.
In response, KCC had this to say: "The tenders have been assessed and the council are doing our due diligence regarding insurance, performance bond, and cost breakdown with the preferred tenderer before entering into a contractual agreement.
"As this is a design-build contract, the contractor will have some upfront design work before commencing on-site."
KCC added: "We hope to be on-site in the next four-to-six weeks, if everything proceeds smoothly."
