A North Kildare resident has been disqualified from driving for three-years.

Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision in the case of Conleth Vaugh, of 28 The Drive, Straffan Wood, County Kildare.

Gardaí present in Naas District Court on Thursday, February 8 last told the judge that on April 4, 2022, the 43-year-old failed to stop for gardaí when told to do so at Parson Street in Maynooth.

When he eventually stopped, he attempted to flee the scene but fell.

It was also heard that he was caught driving without a licence.

Gardaí added that a later blood sample showed that he had alcohol in his system at the time of the incident.

Judge Zaidan imposed a three-year driving ban on Mr Vaugh, and also fined him a total of €1,100, to be paid within the three months.
