Kildare house to feature on RTE's Home of the Year as new series begins

A house in Kildare will feature during the new series of RTE's Home of the Year which returns to our screens next week for its tenth season.

Since first appearing on screens in 2015, Home of the Year has celebrated the creativity and individuality of homeowners all over the country. Clever design and inspiring interiors will be showcased as viewers take a peak inside another 21 gorgeous homes located across the country.  

The series will feature re-imagined semi-detached homes, renovation projects, architectural homes, restored period homes and new builds in locations in Antrim, Clare, Cork, Derry, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Louth, Mayo, Offaly, Waterford and Wicklow. 

Looking for individuality, functionality, and clever design, the three judges will each score the homes out of 10, and the home with the highest combined score in each programme will go through to the final in April, where the winner will be crowned.    

Making the difficult decisions are the returning judging panel of architect and founding partner of Douglas Wallace Consultants, Hugh Wallace, award-winning architect Amanda Bone and award-winning interior designer Sara Cosgrove.  

Speaking ahead of his tenth series on Home of the Year, Hugh Wallace said: “Two hundred and ten delicious homes visited over a decade and my heart still flutters with excitement to walk through the hall door and get inspired. Love it!” 

Interior designer Sara Cosgrove said: “Delighted to be part of series 10 of Home of the Year. I loved travelling the country with my fellow judges, seeing the diversity of design and home styles.” 

Architect Amanda Bone said: “I believe a home is a reflection of the homeowner and a source of well-being, so it's fascinating discovering what people enjoy and how they express and see themselves.” 

The series airs on Tuesdays at 8.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player starting from February 20, 2024.
