A centre of excellence has been proposed for a football club which is based in North Kildare.

Applicant Derek Meaney has applied for planning permission from Kildare County Council for the Centre, which is being sought for the grounds of Celbridge Town Football Club at Ballymakealy, Celbridge.

Mr Meaney is seeking permission for the creation of a new ground floor self-contained Centre of Excellence, which would contain an auditorium, reception area and refreshment area.

This Centre would be located adjacent to the existing changing rooms.

The building will be 16x8 metres, according to the application.

The date received is listed as February 15 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as March 20 and April 10.
