Laois Gardaí issued an appeal in relation to a car that may have been involved in a collision on the M7 near Portlaoise. 

Gardaí arrested a driver following reports of a number of incidents involving a black Peugeot 207 at around lunchtime today. 

They issued an appeal in relation to the car which was driven between Portlaoise and Kildare. 

“Portlaoise Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to incidents that involved the behaviour of the driver of a Black Peugeot 207 today,” gardaí said. 

“Gardai have stopped and arrested the driver of this vehicle after reports of it being driven dangerously on the M7 between Kildare and Portlaoise around lunchtime today. 

It may have also been involved in a collision at J15 off the M7 this earlier in the day,” they said.  

Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to the manner in which the car was allegedly driving.

They  have also appealed for drivers with dashcam footage to contact the Laois Roads Policing Unit at Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
