Votes being counted in Kildare today
Voters across County Kildare look set to reject both proposals to change references to carers and the family in the Constitution.
A definitive result is some way away yet - and no-one can say for certain when it will be announced.
But tally figures produced a handful of people counting the votes as the ballot boxes were opened indicate that neither amendment has enough support to be carried - in Kildare North or Kildare south.
One box from St Brigid's Primary School in Kildare town saw the Family proposal defeated by 56 votes to 37 and the Care amendment lost by 67 to 17.
A box form Scoil an Linbh Iosa, Ballycane, Naas saw the family vote defeated by 128 to 60. In Rathangan, one box saw 154 no votes for the Care amendment with just 57 in favour.
Another box, form Scoil Bhride Kill, saw the Family amendment beatan by a ratio of three votes to one.
It was rejected by a ration of two and a half to one in one box from Kilshanroe.
Individual boxes from Kilcock and Leixlip also saw the Family change rejected.
