Two road closures have been announced by Kildare County Council (KCC) and will affect Junction 8 and Junction 7.
Commenting on the planned closure, KCC said in a statement: "KCC gives notice, on behalf of Globalvia Jons Limited, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close roads between Tuesday, March 19, 2024 and Friday, March 22, 2024 and Monday, March 25, 2024 and Thursday, March 28, 2024, to facilitate resurfacing works on the M7 between Junction 8 and Junction 7."
Regarding the first closure, KCC said that it will close the N7 Naas Road (Eastbound) from Junction 8 – Johnstown Interchange, to Junction 7 – Kill Interchange, from 9pm to 6am from Tuesday, March 19, 2024 to Friday, March 22, 2024.
As for the second closure, KCC said that it will close the same road from the aforementioned points again, this time from 9pm to 6am from Monday, March 25, 2024 to Thursday, March 28, 2024.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
Alternative route for N7 Naas Road (Eastbound): Junction 8 to Junction 7.
Divert from the N7 at Junction 8 (Johnstown Interchange).
Take the fourth exit from the roundabout then the first exit from the second roundabout onto the L2014 towards Kill.
Continue along the L2014 through Kill (Main Street) until the roundabout at N7 Junction 7 (Kill Interchange).
Take the second exit from the roundabout then the third exit from the second roundabout to re-join the N7 Naas Road (Eastbound).
"Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána," KCC said: "Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained."
