A knifepoint robbery incident which occurred at a Newbridge service station is currently under investigation by Kildare gardaí.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of robbery that occurred in the Moorefield area of Newbridge at approximately 9.50pm on March 26, 2024.
"No injuries were reported."
The spokesperson added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
Garda John-Joe O'Connell also commented on the incident while speaking to KFM Radio earlier today.
He told host Eoin Beatty that a lone male entered into a service station and threatened staff members with a knife.
Gda O'Connell said that the male made off with a sum of money and was last seen heading in the direction of the Standhouse Road.
He explained: "The male is described as being between 6"0 and 6"2 tall. At the time, the male was wearing: a grey hood, navy top, short-sleeve navy jacket, dark Nike runners, and a navy tracksuit."
